Join Sufiyan for a Word-Benders poetry workshop. Queerness and Islam are often understood to be at odds with one another. But the Sufi tradition of love and worship offers us a different perspective. Queer Muslims throughout history have found solace in the poetry of the Sufis. Join us to explore our queer identities through Sufi poetry, and explore the Sufi ethos of love through a queer lens. All welcome <3 Date: Thursday 6th August 2026Time: 6.30-8pm Location: Queer Circle, Building 4, Design District, 3 Barton Yard, Soames Walk, London SE10 0BN✨ We will read and reflect on a selection of Sufi poems and poetry by queer Muslim authors. ✨ There'll be time to write in response to prompts and share your work with the group if you want to. ✨ FREE/3 to sign up. ✨ There'll be BSL interpretation.
