VMO members are named after legendary black metal bands written in Japanese katakana, such as Darkthrone, Mayhem, Emperor, Gorgoroth, etc. With KEZZARDRIX (who has done live visuals for MILLENNIUM PARADE and BABYMETAL in the past) in charge of live visuals, VMO consists of five strobe lights, a smoke machine, and a vocalist – Zastar. The band creates an extreme art music project where techno, black metal, industrial, noise, gabber, and contemporary music are combined. It is like black metal meets Kraftwerk or APHEX TWIN with corpse painting. Incidentally, they are currently one of the most power-hungry bands in live houses and clubs. VMO's total power consumption is 5000 watts (equivalent to 56 amplifiers in simple terms). Their first album Catastrophic Anonymous was released domestically on world's end girlfriend’s label Virgin Babylon Records and featured Chip King of The Body, Sunn O)))), and Attila of Mayhem. --- Support from Zilch Patrol Since 2023, Zilch Patrol have carved out their place in Newcastle upon Tyne’s singular post-industrial punk landscape, keeping their baggage light and their ambitions strictly musical. Their new album Glamour captures their approach in full - a surge of raging noise rock driven by weighty programmed drums, classic heavy metal riffery, and feverish post-punk-leaning vocals.
