Over a career spanning more than three decades, Ian became one of the most influential figures in equity and debt capital markets, earning the moniker “King of Mining” for his role in advising and executing many of the industry’s most significant transactions. He has played a central role in shaping modern capital raising, pioneering the global bookbuilding process and helping bring major emerging market companies to the London Stock Exchange. His track record includes landmark transactions such as the listings of BHP Billiton, Vedanta, and Xstrata, as well as the $90 billion Glencore-Xstrata merger.
