It can't escape anyone's notice that it's a very tough time to be a migrant. Which makes it all the more important to come together and resist the small but noisy minority who are trying to set the agenda. We're incredibly proud to be working on this unique event with outward-looking co-hosts @wf_migrant_action and @maisumdiscos – a unique celebration coinciding with International Migrants Day. It's designed to both open ears to the possibilities of collaborating & being inspired by music/cultures different to our own; and show solidarity and thanks to all those generous enough to share theirs. Connections in Sound presents a stellar line up: Leensaa Getachew (Ethiopia) - Oromo songwriter and vocalist. Jana Saleh @usernamewiththatusername (Lebanon) - Electronic producer, composer, sound artist and DJ. @zelt.uk - (Turkey/UK) - London-based Anglo-Turkish alternative/electronic/folk trio. @nkombamusic (Malawi/UK) - Contemporary mix of Malawian folk and African roots music.
