Elgar Room at Royal Albert Hall
MELTWATER is a 60-minute immersive performance exploring the fragile beauty and accelerating loss of the polar ice caps. Created by composer and vocalist Supriya Nagarajan, the work weaves evocative Indian vocals with contemporary instrumentation, live performance, and striking field recordings of melting ice, flowing water, and shifting climates. Set against a visual backdrop of glaciers filmed in their final stages, MELTWATER offers a haunting reflection on environmental change. The performance brings together an exceptional ensemble of international artists across flute, harp, marimba, and electronic sound, creating a rich, textural sound world that is both intimate and expansive. Taking place in the Elgar Room, the Steinway Series stars exceptional artists from the worlds of classical music and jazz. The Elgar Room is the Royal Albert Hall’s versatile contemporary performance space. It's steeped in history and a great way to enjoy live entertainment at the Hall beyond the main stage.
