Our Time Is Now! is a monthly Saturday afternoon party brought to you by Wah Wah 45s label boss and renowned DJ Dom Servini with special guests joining him for a session for dancers and sedentary music lovers alike, celebrating the music they love. Whether it's disco, dance floor jazz, Northern Soul or even a touch of bruk, house or hip hop, it's all fair game at this open-minded session. Think Dingwalls meets The Loft and you get the idea of what we are aspiring to! Rise, at Goldsmiths Student Union, is the perfect venue for this monthly meeting of minds, bodies and souls, with its gorgeous wooden dance floor, bespoke Funktion One sound system and not forgetting a very reasonably priced student bar! On Saturday May 30th, starting as usual at 1pm, Dom is joined by a very special guests in the shape of the Mr Bongo Soundsystem, representing one of the UK's most revered record labels! Something not to miss! They'll not only be joined by our residents, and south London royalty, Handson Family, but also by legendary eclectic jazz DJ Russ Jones, who'll be supplying some early doors vibrations for our family dance. Once again, we'll be serving delicious Caribbean food all day long; and Mr Bongo Records will also be manning the vinyl record stall (oof!) alongside Russ Jones' Love Wins charity who'll be selling bespoke t-shirts, books and other gorgeous merch; and not only that, OJA will be back by popular demand with their stunningly designed Nigeria sourced, gorgeous clothing!
