London-based Palestinian oud virtuoso Saied Silbak brings his latest project, Oud for Palestine, to Kings Place. Oud for Palestine, reimagines beloved Palestinian folkloric songs with an intimate trio of Oud, double bass, and Arabic percussion. Alongside six traditional classics, the album also features ‘Voices from Gaza’, an original composed in 2024 as a response to the genocide in Gaza. Through fresh arrangements infused with his signature Oud playing and rich musical background, and by stripping away lyrics, Silbak delivers a powerful, resonant statement: a voice of solidarity with Gaza and a celebration of Palestinian culture which carries memory, resilience, and beauty.
